Greetings people...
I thought a lot about what should my first post be like, it didn't help. But a national daily did. A recent news article showed some interesting facts about unemployment and something which is even more important - Unemployability.
It would be shocking (actually unbelievable) to hear that ONLY 8% of the Indian youth are actually unemployed! Moreover 53% of employed youth suffer from skill deprivation. To sum up - 82.5 million of the youth are unemployable.
Now when we have stepped a foot forward into a new world of our own choice ,where we know that our brain cells will automatically start processing at a higher speed without any outside force, are we sure that our senses will be totally or even satisfied a bit ??
The curriculum is still the same since ages (eg. DU -Computer Engineering has same syllabus since 32 years). The professors don't bother to take classes and even if they do, the classroom teachings have always been boring and useless!
The companies demand that you be fully equipped with the knowledge of your subject (which by no means is included in your curriculum ).
But at the same time. you have to follow the curriculum in order to clear the examinations and get a degree.
90% of employment opportunities require vocational skills but 90% of employed youth has bookish knowledge.
The question still remains unanswered -- Who are better employees - your university toppers or real geniuses ?

i think an amalgamation of both-real geniuses and university toppers wud just b perfect! wt do u think?
gr8 stuff buddy.....
the article really makes u sit back nd think about it!!
kudos to you and your writing!!
thanx dude....
but the question is still unanswered and i want someone to give an amazing one....
though amalgamation of both is correct theoretically but practically how will u implement this?
Nice post! really made me think. As for d ques u raised, here's my view
I think(I may be wrong here) companies give preference to university toppers and actually dere's nothing wrong in dis. dey were given a job and dey did it bettr dan d rest( remember a student is supposed to have just 1 thing to do: study his course work). and i suppose dey actually prove to be bettr employees. u can always learn anything and specially in this field technology keeps changing.
But real geniuses(though i'll not like to use dis term) would never want to be an employee in the first place. They'll surely prove to be more fruitful for the world though.
So the world needs both kinds of ppl(as always) and each has his own worth. Just decide wat interests u more, wat u would want to be.
Surely, dere's no clear winner..
